We will never spend another dime at this vet. The doctor we saw made inappropriate sexual jokes about me when alone in the room with my dog. Then had the nerve to say that my husband and I don't care about our dog and need to take better care of her. This was the 3rd time in 2 months we had brought our dog in mind you... if I was such a bad dog owner I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have brought her in multiple times for the same issue AND spent over $1000.00 at your hospital. This place is horrible and I will drive the 30 minutes to chico for our future animal care needs!
I took my 6 year old Maltipoo to #ButteOrovilleVeterinaryHospital only because it was on the main road OroDamblvd and was the only place I knew to go being new to the area. What A MISTAKE! My pure white dog haf blood on his bottom, which is the 2nd time I've seen this happen to him. So thinking, "no big deal, is another burst anal gland". Thinking I would take him in, get it flushed and he'd be fine, I went alone, even giving him a sedation pill for the drive, which I THOUGHT would be the worst of it. WRONG! I told the doc (name I'll have to pull the paperwork on to list that and the date which was early 2014) that it was likely a burst anal gland and that he was sedated, drove pod to get a coffee and come back 1/2 hour later. NEVER in my wildest dreams did I think I was coming back to hear he had a mass that was most definitely CANCER that needed surgery (partnering with Valley in Chico for Chemo)!! On to of that they sedated him so badly i thought i wad going to lose him THAT night! Hysterically crying, I felt something wasn't right! I left with my dog thankfully, pulled over crying and called my husband who sent someone to pick us up because i was too distraught to drive! My husband called a local friend who recommended we take my Tucker to Dr. Craig at #LookAheadVeterinaryHospital for a second opinion. THANK GOD WE DID!!! Dr.Craig put my pup on antibiotics and took a wait calmer approach and haf me bring him back 2 weeks later, at which point after checking he says, "You want the good news, or the good news?!: I about kissed him right THEN and THERE!! It indeed was just a burst anal gland that was fine after antibiotics and flushing! I have him A BIG HUG, thanked God and my hubs friend for telling us about Look Ahead! Dr. Craig really cares, and isn't money hungry like the other Vet. I was contacted by Asha who's dog was sadly and tragically killed, actually mutilated by ButteOrovilleVet. She had been trying to sue but needs backing. If you have a horror story, please contact her or I. Oh, interestingly enough, i went to PetCo in Oroville to buy a soft cone so my dog would bite area, and when i asked the clerk could i take collar or to try on my dog who was in the car wirth my hubs, she asked what happened. I told her my nightmare story of one very, and how great the 2nd Vet was WITHOUT even mentioning names, and she says, "Let me guess, you went to ButteOroville, then LookAhead." I was blown away! Who knew to think to look to them for a review BUT they KNEW! My hubs n I wrote a review on this before and it suspiciously disappeared! To the people who trusted them and put their pet's down or had useless surgery, I'm sooo sorry! Pets are family, ALWAYS get 2nd or 3rd opinions! They're worth it!! Hope this helped!
Friendly staff, courteous and kind to animals. Won't let you in the OR, but there's a glass door so your pet can see you. Slight ding for not letting us know when our animals were due for their shots, but we transferred our records when our old vet passed away so we'll see if they get the records straight now that we've been with them for over a year. They're affiliated with an online pet meds site so good prices and availability.
DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE, CAUSE IF YOU DO, IT MAY BE THE LAST VET VISIT YOUR PET EVER HAS!
