A nice little park set on the side of the Feather River viewable from Highway 70. Bbq pits and lots of grass.
Love sitting in my car watching the water levels. Can't wait for them to go back down so we can start seeing the normal bedrock again. And please if you see someone homeless be kind because everyone has a past and everyone has a future and you never know what impact you can make with just a simple smile and a hello.
A paved bike/walking path that follows the river runs through the park, which in one direction leads to (the much nicer but currently closed for renovation) Riverbend Park, and in the other direction leads toward Centennial Park, Boss Burger, and an historic bridge built in the early 1900's.
There are a few old picnic tables in the grass, but short of using steps on a stairway not much else is provided for seating, particularly if you would like to be a little closer to the water. That said, placing a camp chair down by the water's edge seems fairly popular and certainly affords a better view.
It is not a place I like to hang out, sorta dirty, water is stagnate. Not really for kids, nothing to play on.
Could be beautiful but it has huge problem with transients and their garbage strewn all over.
This park has tons of potential, but has perpetually given off a run-down vibe. The upper and lower parking lots are more than adequate for the amount of traffic the park receives, and disabled parking is located both near the public restrooms and the parks decently sized grassy area.
